In 2002, I was awarded the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR®) designation. The ABR® designation is the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation. This coveted designation is awarded to real estate practitioners by the Real Estate BUYER'S AGENT Council ("REBAC") of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® who meet the specified educational and practical experience criteria. 

I am committed to continuing my education and staying updated with current trends and issues in real estate. I am a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS®), the highest designation awarded to sales associates in the residential sales field. This designation recognizes professional accomplishments in both experience and education. Only 5 percent of all REALTORS® have earned this prestigious credential. The education received in order to earn this designation is considered "top shelf" and that benefits my clients! CRS® designees were involved in nearly 25 percent of all residential real estate transactions in the United States last year. As a Council member, I get information about the latest sales and marketing techniques, and changes in the law that benefit home buyers and sellers.  

Last year, I began studying for my Broker's License. 120 clock hours in course work is required to complete this intensive training including studies in real estate law, brokerage management and business management. A challenging and exciting course of study, to be sure! By on-going training in my industry, I can better serve you -- which is my number one goal. 

In July, 2006, I proudly added Certified EcoBroker to my Professional Designations. To earn the EcoBroker designation, an agent completes extensive coursework that covers issues of energy, environment and green business. These skills and knowledge can assist any consumer, both those who consider themselves "green-minded" and those who do not. By providing the link between builders, consumers, and green products, EcoBrokers are likely to play an increasingly vital role in the evolving industry of sustainable home design. My training will allow me to serve Buyers in identifying green and energy-efficient features in a home. The EcoBroker advantage for Sellers is my ability to identify, explain and market the energy-efficient features in your home -- all which add value when it comes to pricing and selling your property.

Even with the changes in tax laws over recent years, you may be able to deduct some of the expenses of a move that is the result of a change in your job.

You will probably be able to deduct the costs of your move if your new work location means more than an additional 50-mile commute, if you move within a year of taking the job at the new location, and if you work full-time for at least 39 weeks (the total is 78 weeks if you are self-employed). You should keep meticulous records of all of your expenses and consult a tax expert to make sure that you take all the lawful tax deductions allowed by the IRS criteria for expenses related to selling your old home or buying your new one. The IRS publication No. 521 entitled "Tax Information on Moving Expenses" makes good reading before you make a move.
